Hi I am Heidi Brouelette, Licensed Professional Counselor, owner, clinical supervisor and corporate trainer at Discovery & Wellness Counseling.
Having earned a Master of Arts (MA) in Counseling from Northern Arizona University. I am a Nationally Credentialed (NCC) therapist with the National Board of Certified Counselors. I currently hold professional memberships with the Arizona Emotionally Focused Therapy Community (AzEFT) and International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT).
Why I help others grow & change
In short, the person I am today is not the same person I was 18 years ago. Sure, I am still Heidi, but how I view myself and my life is very different. In perusing my career, I have come to learn more about myself and experience more healing than I ever anticipated.
It is a proven fact that as human beings we make initial judgements & inferences about those we interact with. In my life, I have experienced a lot of this. No one would guess that I have had a very unique growing up experience, having had parents that were hippies, we traveled the Pacific North West and surrounding states for much of my childhood, living as a family in a tent, TP, numerous houses and two trailers along the way. It created a very diverse growing up experience, to say the least. I attended 6 different high schools and a plethora of primary schools. Through my life span, I have learned how to heal from the effects of low self-esteem, tragic losses, grief, substance abuse, anxiety, depression and trauma. Learning to laugh, smile, and love who I am, has and is a journey that continues still today. Seeing and experiencing my own life transform has encouraged and propelled me to come along side those who are hurting; support them in finding hope and healing.
It is my belief, we all have the ability to change and grow. What hinders you today, does not have to impact you forever. It is my goal to equip you with awareness and understanding, which in turn will foster the growth you desire for yourself, family or relationships.
Beyond my interest & pursuits professionally, I enjoy spending time with my family; traveling, hiking, white water rafting, kayaking and exploring the numerous piney mountains and lakes here in Arizona, Oregon and all in between.
