Hi there, I’m Bianca Pacifici and I am happy that you have decided to explore how Discovery & Wellness Counseling can help support you!
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Arizona. I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trust Based Relational Intervention, Child Parent Psychotherapy and Theraplay. I received my Master’s in Social Work from Aurora University.
Why I help others grow & change
As I was growing up, I experienced bullying which led to my own struggles with anxiety and depression. I also came from a family that was very intentional in stopping the generational patterns of violence. Through my experiences, I saw the value in helping young children and adults that have experienced difficult things and the power of healing that can happen within a family system.
It wasn’t until I read the novel,‘A Child Called It’ that I realized I wanted to help children, adults and families work towards healing and regaining a sense of safety and control.
Through my journey, I have gained a lot of experience working with children, adults and families; specifically those that have experienced trauma, attachment difficulties, substance use and separations which often lead to depression, anxiety and PTSD.
As a result, I try to always approach my work with with children, adults and relationship challenges with a trauma-informed lens. I believe that our time together and the healing journey should be client-led, so I thrive to meet you were you’re at and value a safe and secure therapeutic relationship to help guide our sessions.
While I tend to be a very direct person and therapist, I am open to feedback and strongly encourage it. I value openness, transparency and honesty and have found this to be firm building blocks to creating a good theraputic connection.
In building that therapeutic foundation, the opportunity for growth and change can truly begin to happen.
Outside of being a therapist, I enjoy spending time with my family and cuddling up with my cats. I also like trying new restaurants, exploring different cities, and watching baseball. I’m originally from the Chicago suburbs and recently moved from the Seattle area, so I’m looking forward to seeing all that Arizona has to offer!
